About Us
AgentSavvy is a small, California-based team with experience in business, technology, and data science.
Our goal is to empower everyday people with quality information to choose the best real estate agent. Selling or buying a home is a critical financial decision and we want to make it easier to approach with confidence.
How we got started
Our site started with the question of why something like this didn’t already exist!
Looking for an agent to sell a home, we wondered why it wasn’t easier to tell not just which agents had good headshots or a few enthusiastic reviews, but which agents had a past track record of strong performance!
AgentSavvy is not part of any larger company and we’re not trying to be your agent ourselves, which lets us provide objective analysis.
Our approach to evaluating agents
We want to help you find the agent who leads the league, not one who’s merely average. Across millions of past sales, we’ve rated each selling agent’s performance by comparing against fair market value, as determined by a unique index of comparable homes based on hundreds of relevant variables.
While we’ve done the best modeling we can on the best data we can get ahold of, we know that no single number (or letter grade) can fully capture the skills and track record of a skilled real estate agent.
Using the site
In its current form, AgentSavvy is a diligence tool for learning more about an agent who’s already on your radar, and maybe learning about a better agent who isn’t.
Our agent directory includes individualized scorecards for over 150,000 active California real estate agents. These scorecards can tell you information like whether the agent you’re looking at has a history of selling homes for at or above fair market value, how quickly, and in which neighborhoods.
Our agent pages also include the opportunity to contact agents, as well as listing for high-performing agents in the same geographic area.
Choosing an agent
Looking for your next real estate agent? The grades on our site are one step in making an informed decision.
Choosing the right agent can be worth tens of thousands of dollars, so if you’d like more thoughts on steps like how to build your agent shortlist and interview agents, read our piece on the process of finding the best real estate agent.
Our business model
AgentSavvy will never take money in exchange for better grades. We may charge agents for opportunities to be featured in various ways throughout the site. If you’re a California real estate agent, learn more about working with AgentSavvy.
